Civil Engineer (1-Year Contract)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of construction projects within a large-scale industrial environment. The successful candidate will oversee civil and structural works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
This role will work closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes from design review through construction and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate civil, structural, and infrastructure works throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Review engineering designs, shop drawings, technical submissions, and contractor proposals.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify construction quality, safety compliance, and project progress.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, authorities, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and construction issues.
- Track project schedules, milestones, risks, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
- Support project planning, budgeting, cost control, and reporting activities.
- Review contractor progress claims, variation requests, and construction documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, engineering standards, and company policies.
- Prepare technical reports, meeting minutes, and project status updates for management.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution, quality, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, semiconductor, infrastructure, commercial, or large-scale building projects.
- Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, construction methodologies, and project management practices.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, and multiple project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of local building regulations, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering/project management tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting owner-side project management, construction management, or consultancy projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
- Exposure to semiconductor, manufacturing, mission-critical, or industrial development projects is highly preferred.
- Experience working within multinational project environments.
