Job Title: Clinical Psychologist/Counselor
Location: Solace Asia Facility
We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and skilled Clinical Psychologist or Counselor to join our team at a leading residential addiction treatment facility. This role is essential in providing psychological assessment, psychotherapy and evidence-based interventions to residents on their recovery journey. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to promote healing, resilience, and overall well-being for individuals in treatment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and/or psychotherapy for individuals with substance and/or behavioral addictions, as well as co-occurring mental health concerns, within a residential setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapies tailored to each client's needs
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, support groups, and psychoeducation workshops on addiction recovery within a biopsychosocial framework
- Collaborate with clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, recovery support coaches, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in line with ethical and legal requirements
- Offer crisis intervention to clients experiencing acute distress or substance-use related emergencies
- Participate in clinical meetings to discuss case formulations, treatment strategies and client treatment progress
- Stay current with advancements in addiction treatment and evidence-based interventions through continuous professional development
Requirements
- Master's or doctoral degree in clinical psychology or counseling from an accredited institution
- Registered with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) or Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM) (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in mental health or related fields (preferred)
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and nonjudgmental approach to clients
- Comfortable facilitating group sessions and workshops
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a dynamic environment
- Passion for working in the addiction treatment field and supporting individuals in recovery
- Openness and willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Passion/interest in working within the addiction treatment field
- Commitment to developing competencies necessary to work effectively with individuals with substance use disorders
