What you'll be doing
Azure Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networks and other resources.
- Implement and maintain VDI solutions to provide secure and scalable remote desktop services.
- Monitor and optimize the performance and reliability of Azure-based infrastructure.
Cost Optimization
- Analyse and monitor Azure usage and costs using tools like Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor.
- Identify and implement cost-saving strategies, such as right-sizing resources, implemnting auto-scaling and using reserved instances.
- Regularly review billing reports and ensure optimal utilization of cloud resources.
Security Enhancement
- Evaluate and improve the Azure Security Score, addressing recommendations and implemting security best practices.
- Implement encryption, secure data storage, and compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.
Automation and Efficicency
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM Templates to automate cloud resource provisiong.
- Automate routine tasks, such as scaling, monitoring, and backups, to improve operational efficiency.
- Integrate cloud infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment processes.
Collaboration and Support
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps and application development teams to align cloud infrastructure with business objectives.
- Provide technical support for VDI environments, troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues.
- Document cloud architecture, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Set up and monitor Azure tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana etc., to ensure system health and performance.
- Generate regular reports on cost savings, security improvements, and VDI performance metrics.
- Provatively identfy trends and issues to optimize system operations and user experiences.
Role Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Expertise in Azure including services like Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure SQL, Azure DevOps and Azure Storage.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates etc.
- Expertise in Azure VDI solutions
- Proficiency in cost management and cost optimization using Azure Cost Management tools.
- Strong understanding of Azure security principles, tools, and practics, including Security Center and Defender.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Azure cetifications (e.g. Azure Solution Architect, Azure Security Engineer, Azure Administrator) preferred.
