About the Role

The Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing cloud-based systems while providing L2/L3 technical support for enterprise cloud services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, scripting, and troubleshooting, ensuring high availability and performance for customers.

This role serves the EMEA Time zone (5pm MY to 2am MY).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud Infrastructure & Support:

  • Provide back-end cloud support for customer-facing teams, ensuring SLA compliance
  • Monitor cloud services (AWS/Azure) for performance, security, and cost optimization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated cloud infrastructure issues (VM, networking, storage, DB)
  • Analyze and troubleshoot customer file issues (XML, JSON formats) when required for investigations
  • Maintain internal knowledge base (Confluence, KB articles) for incident resolution

Automation & Optimization:

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for cloud operations
  • Knowledge in CI/CD pipeline improvements (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform - This is a plus)
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures in cloud resource usage

Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Work with DevOps, Security, and IT teams to ensure Cloud best practices
  • Document processes and ensure compliance with IT security policies (ISO 27001, SOC 2)
  • Participate in on-call rotation with on-call allowances

Required Experience

Must-Have:

  • 1-3 years of experience in cloud support, systems engineering, or DevOps
  • Hands-on with AWS/Azure cloud experience (Certification is a big plus)
  • Proficient in scripting (PowerShell/Python/Bash) for automation
  • Ability to analyse and understand customer file formats (XML, JSON) for troubleshooting purposes
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows servers, networking (TCP/IP, VPN, Firewalls)
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Strong analytical& problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
