COBOL - AS400 Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with strong expertise in AS400 COBOL development and banking domain exposure, particularly in the payment's domain. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining AS400 applications while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions within defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain AS400 COBOL software modules, interfaces, and components
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC) including analysis, development, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver quality software aligned with business requirements and timelines
• Explore and implement new business solutions to enhance system functionality and user experience
• Follow established application design standards and methodologies
• Maintain and support existing AS400 applications and troubleshoot production issues
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions
• Use tools such as JIRA and ALDON for tracking, version control, and deployment
• Proactively identify and escalate risks or issues
• Continuously upgrade technical skills and stay updated with industry trends

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in AS400 / IBM iSeries
• Proficiency in COBOL programming
• Experience with SQL and DB2 databases
• Knowledge of JIRA and ALDON
• Understanding of software delivery lifecycle
• Experience in banking domain, preferably in payments systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related field
• 5+ years of experience in AS400 COBOL development
• Experience working in client-facing environments
