Job Description

Job Summary

Algonova, an international school of programming & math is currently looking for Coding & Game Design Tutor. In this role, you will deliver interactive and structured lessons to students aged 6–17, helping them build strong foundations in coding and mathematical thinking.

Beyond teaching, you will play an important role in creating a positive learning experience by fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence. You will also collaborate with the academic team and maintain clear communication with parents to support each student's progress.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver engaging lessons focused on coding, game design, and math fundamentals
  • Guide students in creating simple games and interactive projects
  • Introduce programming concepts using tools such as Python and Scratch
  • Support students in understanding basic mathematical concepts related to logic and problem-solving
  • Support students in developing creativity, problem-solving, and digital skills
  • Track student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Maintain a consistent and high-quality learning experience
  • Deliver lessons aligned with the provided curriculum
  • Facilitate interactive sessions using effective learning activities and assessments
  • Prepare student evaluations and progress reports
  • Support academic and non-academic initiatives when needed

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in a relevant field (Game Design, Programming, STEM, Education, or related disciplines)
  • Experience using or teaching Python, Visual Programming, Scratch, or similar coding tools
  • Strong understanding of game design concepts or tools
  • Basic understanding of mathematics and logical thinking to support student learning
  • Strong communication and creative thinking skills
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Melayu is required
  • Passion for working with children and education

Nice to Have

  • Experience teaching game development or project-based learning
  • Teaching Certification and/or Programming Certification
  • Familiarity with game design tools or platforms
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles
  • Experience using virtual learning platforms or online teaching tools
  • Detail-oriented, responsive, and able to work independently

Compensation & Benefits

  • Freelance, fully remote role
  • Rate: Up to USD 6/hour, depending on experience and overall evaluation during the recruitment process
  • Minimum commitment: 18 teaching hours per week (including 1 weekend)
  • Full schedule estimated earnings: USD 108/week, equivalent to USD 432/month, with potential to increase based on additional teaching hours
