Job Description

About the role

Responsible for managing the Bank's Early Warning Portfolio by proactively identifying customers showing signs of financial deterioration and initiating early intervention strategies to minimize delinquency migration and credit losses. The role focuses on monitoring customers repayment behaviour, CCRIS performance, external credit exposure, business operations, and financial condition. The incumbent will conduct customer engagement, business site visits, negotiate suitable rehabilitation or restructuring solutions, recommend early recovery strategies, and support credit risk governance through portfolio reporting and committee presentations.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage assigned Early Warning (EW) portfolio to identify customers showing signs of financial deterioration before delinquency escalates.
  • Perform proactive account reviews using repayment behaviour, internal transaction data, CCRIS reports, bureau information and external credit indicators.
  • Identify emerging risks including adverse CCRIS trends, increasing external indebtedness, bounced payments, declining account activities and other early warning signals.
  • Develop account action plans to minimise migration into higher delinquency buckets.
  • Contact customers at the earliest stage to understand financial difficulties and assess repayment capability.
  • Negotiate suitable repayment arrangements, restructuring and rescheduling (R&R), settlement proposals or early exit strategies.
  • Conduct customer business site visits where required to assess business viability, operational performance and repayment capacity.
  • Prepare site visit reports with findings, risk observations and recommended recovery strategies.
  • Prepare portfolio analysis, risk assessment reports and management updates.
  • Present significant accounts, portfolio trends and recommended strategies during weekly portfolio meetings.

About you

  • 3–5 years in Collections, Early Warning, Credit Monitoring, Collection knowledge, Special Assets, Business Banking or Credit Risk.
  • Experience handling SME and Commercial Banking portfolios is an advantage.
  • Experience negotiating restructuring & rescheduling (R&R), settlement and rehabilitation programmes.
  • Experience conducting business site visits and financial assessment.
  • Strong understanding of CCRIS.
  • Understanding of SME financial statements.
  • Knowledge of BNM Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Collection & Recovery lifecycle.
  • Credit risk assessment and portfolio monitoring skills.
  • Analytical thinking, negotiation, investigation, presentation, stakeholder management, strong communication, report writing, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
