Job Purpose
Lead and manage end-to-end collection operations, ensuring effective recovery performance across all delinquency stages while maintaining compliance and strong team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-spectrum collection operations, including early-stage delinquency, late-stage recovery, repossession, legal recovery, and bad debt management.
- Develop and execute collection strategies to achieve monthly and quarterly targets, including improving cure rates and reducing arrears.
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of Senior Executives and Executives, including KPI setting, performance reviews, and calibration exercises.
- Monitor delinquency trends across different buckets and initiate timely escalation and recovery actions.
- Drive optimization of collection tools and systems, including AI chatbots, WhatsApp notification systems, and mobile payment platforms.
- Ensure all collection activities comply with the Hire Purchase Act 1967 and internal conduct standards, including fair treatment of underbanked customers.
- Coordinate weekend calling programs, field visit operations, and branch-level support activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in collections or credit management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong experience in hire purchase, auto financing, or consumer lending, preferably with exposure to underbanked segments.
- Proven track record of leading collection teams (8+ members) and consistently achieving recovery targets.
- Strong knowledge of the Hire Purchase Act 1967.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
