The Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Specialist develops and executes commercial solutions for medium-to-large scale industrial and commercial customers, such as manufacturing plants, data centers, and industrial parksto adopt renewable or clean energy (e.g., solar, storage, PPAs). Acting as a bridge between technical teams and customers, the role ensures proposals are viable, competitively priced, and aligned with Gentari's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Drive growth for GENTARI Renewables by identifying and assessing new opportunities through feasibility studies, commercial and market analysis, and risk mitigation. Build strong networks with potential partners and support negotiations to ensure sustainable business expansion;
  • Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating key agreements such as Power Purchase Agreements, Collaboration Agreements, MoUs, HoAs, and SHAs, ensuring company interests are protected and contracts are executed on time;
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to company governance, compliance systems, and approval processes. Justify and document any deviations to maintain transparency and consistency in business development activities;
  • Risk Management: Implement risk policies and processes to embed a strong risk management culture and minimize exposure in all business development initiatives;
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Establish alliances and joint ventures to capture growth opportunities and protect the company's reputation;
  • Networking & Relationship Building: Develop and sustain relationships with government authorities, industry players, and service providers to stay informed on market developments and identify new opportunities;
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with GENTARI Renewables procedures, statutory requirements, and Limits of Authority to safeguard the company's interests and reputation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or Master's degree (preferably in renewable energy or related segments) is an advantage;
  • At least 5 years in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the renewable energy sector (solar, energy storage, or wind) in Malaysia and/or Asia Pacific;
  • Strong techno-commercial skills with a solid understanding of commercial structures and agreements;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management skills, with strong presentation capabilities;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing business needs.
