Summary of Role
The Commercial Associate supports financial modelling and commercial development for infrastructure projects, including cost-benefit analysis, stakeholder coordination, and contract negotiations. The role contributes to strategy formulation, engages key regulators and partners, and supports project delivery. It also ensures effective risk management and compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do:
Financial Modelling
- Build, revise and manage complex financial models for electricity import and transmission projects and infrastructure
- Support project development work-streams, such as managing multiple stakeholders
- Support the commercial negotiations of transaction documents
- Manage and coordinate workstreams with affiliated entities on the assessment of cost-benefit analyses
Strategic Commercial Planning
- Support the development of commercial models, strategies, and value propositions for new projects and opportunities
- Support the broader corporate strategy and business development pipeline
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with high-level stakeholders, including regulators, transmission system operators (TSOs), and policy-makers
- When required, represent alongside senior management the company in commercial discussions, public consultations, and industry forums
Risk & Governance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks associated with projects and partnerships
- Ensure all deals are compliant with internal governance standards and external regulatory requirements
What You'll Need:
- 3 to 5 years of work experience with an in-depth focus on (i) financial modelling & analysis (II) industry background research (iii) writing of investment memos / presentations
- Working in banking / M&A / project finance / leveraged finance at a major commercial bank / lending institution or IPP will be preferred
- Sector experience in energy infrastructure and renewable energy will be valued
- Highly motivated self-starters with a strong work ethic
