Job Summary
The Commercial Finance Executive supports the commercial and finance teams through timely financial analysis, trade and promotion spend monitoring, budgeting and forecasting support, and business performance reporting.
The role is responsible for maintaining accurate commercial finance data and providing meaningful financial insights to support business decisions across Sales, Marketing and other relevant functions.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Monitor and track Trade Spend and Promotion Spend against approved budgets and plans.
- Prepare monthly spend accruals, reconciliations and supporting schedules for Finance processing.
- Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and latest estimates for commercial-related expenses.
- Prepare Customer Contribution Statements (CCS) and customer/channel profitability analysis.
- Perform pre- and post-promotion analysis to evaluate spending effectiveness and business performance.
- Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast, and highlight key variances and trends.
- Prepare monthly commercial performance reports and presentation materials for management review.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial information and provide ad-hoc analysis as required.
Job Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related discipline.
- Approximately 1–3 years of relevant working experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Management Accounting or Financial Analysis.
- Experience within FMCG, retail, consumer goods or a fast-paced commercial environment would be an added advantage.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions and basic financial analysis.
- Able to prepare and interpret financial reports, budgets and variance analyses.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and work with stakeholders across different functions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
