About The Client :
Our client is a major retail chain with almost 100 stores nationwide.
Role Overview :
The finance manager will be responsible for leading the commercial finance function across all stores, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance. Key duties include account payable, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
The finance manager will also oversee product, supplier, and promotion profitability evaluations, ensuring commercial income compliance and process improvements while leading cross-functional collaboration to enhance financial understanding and supports business decision-making. Besides that, the finance manager manages and develops a team of analysts while ensuring accurate month-end close, internal controls, and participation in strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the commercial finance function for all the client&aposs stores, with strong stakeholder engagement with Commercial Director, Trading Directors and Buying Managers.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor financial and operational performance.
- Support Financial Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting. Develop annual Budget, create and maintain monthly and weekly rolling forecasts to project future financial performance.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast, identifying key drivers and trends
- Ensure the development of key financial reporting and planning processes are effectively to evaluate the profit and cost efficiencies in various areas.
- Evaluate product and supplier profitability, including mix analyses
- Evaluate promotions ROI and effectiveness
- Perform cross-functional collaboration. Working closely with other finance departments, business units, operations and other functional areas. Serving as a key liaison between finance and other departments promoting financial literacy and understanding across the organization
- Lead commercial income billing management
- Champion Companys Commercial Income (CI) Blueprint to support time-to-time policies change and to ensure the compliance of Trade Income against the Companys CI Blueprint
- Supervise the Senior Business Analysts and Business Analysts and providing mentoring, coaching and development
- Perform month end closing on matters relating to Sales and Gross Margin
- Ensure internal controls and corporate governance principles are adhered to
- Participate in ad hoc business cases and projects
Requirements
- Minimum Degree in Accounting / Finance, preferably with accounting professional qualification (MIA/MICPA/ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA)
- At least 10+ years experience in Commercial Finance/ AP/Sales finance
- Intermediate/ advanced knowledge in SQL, Power BI and Power Query
- Possess strong planning, organizing, communication and influencing skills
- Serious commitment to responsibilities with the ability to work under pressure
- Good communication, report writing, mentoring skills and strong analytical skills
- Computer literate with advanced excel skills
- Self-motivated, good team leader and good team player
- Experienced in leading a large team of people would be an added advantage
- FMCG /MNC/ Retail experience would be an added advantage
