Location: Menara BRDB, Bangsar (Hybrid Working Environment)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to own the day-to-day execution of our commercial processes. This role sits at the centre of the business coordinating brokers, underwriting, and internal operations to ensure opportunities convert efficiently and renewals are tightly managed.

This is not a pure sales role. It is a commercially-focused operations role with real ownership over pipeline management, broker engagement, and execution discipline.

You will work closely with the CEO and underwriting team and play a critical role in scaling the business.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Broker Operations

  • Act as a key point of contact for brokers on submissions, renewals, and follow-ups
  • Coordinate broker requests with underwriting, finance, and operations teams
  • Ensure timely responses, clear communication, and consistent service standards

Managing Renewals

  • Own the end-to-end renewals process, including tracking, prioritisation, and broker follow-ups
  • Maintain renewal calendars and ensure no material renewals are missed
  • Support underwriting with data, documentation, and broker coordination during renewals

Pipeline

  • Maintain and manage the commercial pipeline across new business and renewals
  • Track deal stages, expected bind dates, and premium forecasts
  • Produce regular pipeline and performance reporting for management

Process

  • Own and improve CRM and commercial tracking processes
  • Design and document repeatable workflows between brokers, underwriting, and operations
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement practical improvements as the business scales

New Business

  • Support onboarding of new brokers and distribution partners
  • Assist with commercial documentation, presentations, and broker materials
  • Contribute to broader operational initiatives as required in a lean team environment

Preferences

We accept applications from any background, and are very open to applications from non-insurance or non-commercial backgrounds.

We would prefer:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two years in a commercial / business-related function; ideally client-facing
  • Sales experience, ideally in a start-up or high-growth environment
  • Confident and clear communicator, with attention to detail
  • Exposure to insurance or broker-led distribution models (e.g. mortgage sales)

  • Compensation will bealigned with the scope and responsibility of the position.
