About Us

EMS Design & Consultation Sdn. Bhd. is a multidisciplinary firm specializing in commissioning authority, sustainability engagement, and clean environment solutions. We began by supplying and maintaining wafer production tools for the semiconductor industry, later expanding into equipment sales and laboratory maintenance. Building on our clean environment expertise, we diversified into clean environment design and provision, then expanded our capabilities to serve a wide range of industries including semiconductor, electronics, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, food and beverage, R&D laboratories, and commercial buildings — undertaking notable projects for international clients. Today, EMS focuses on commissioning authority and sustainability engagement services, as well as Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Consultation Services, helping manufacturers and building product suppliers make their environmental performance credible, transparent, and globally recognized.

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commissioning Assistant Manager/Senior Engineer to join our team. The Commissioning Assistant Manager/Senior Engineer will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of data center and semiconductor projects by overseeing and coordinating commissioning activities from installation through final handover. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience in system testing and verification, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders. If you are passionate about ensuring high-performance, safe, and efficient facility operations and thrive in a fast-paced project environment, we encourage you to apply. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure commissioning practices align with project requirements, operational goals, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1) Commissioning Management & Execution

• Manage, coordinate, and maintain the end-to-end commissioning process for designated systems in data center and semiconductor projects.

• Implement commissioning plans, procedures, and strategies to achieve project goals and client expectations.

• Conduct system testing, verification, and performance validation to ensure compliance with design and functional requirements.

• Ensure proper documentation of commissioning activities, including test records, reports, checklists, and issue logs.

2) Technical & Engineering Support

• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to confirm correct installation and system readiness.

• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, discrepancies, and system deficiencies during the commissioning phase.

• Support system integration activities and provide technical guidance to contractors, vendors, and site personnel.

• Ensure all commissioning tasks comply with safety standards, quality control procedures, and industry best practices.

3) Project Coordination & Stakeholder Communication

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define commissioning scope, schedules, and deliverables.

• Participate in coordination meetings, reporting commissioning progress, risks, and critical issues.

• Communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and timely execution.

• Assist in preparing final commissioning reports, handover documents, and project closeout packages.

Qualifications/Requirements

1) Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.

• 3–7 years of relevant experience in commissioning, engineering, or project execution— preferably in data center, semiconductor, industrial, or mission-critical facility environments.

• Hands-on experience with system commissioning such as HVAC, electrical power systems, mechanical systems, cleanrooms, process utilities, or ICT/controls systems is highly advantageous.

2) Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of commissioning processes, procedures, and industry standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEBB, etc.).

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical documentation.

• Proficient in system testing, equipment startup, troubleshooting, and performance verification.

• Familiarity with safety regulations, QA/QC practices, and risk assessment methodologies.

3) Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively resolve issues.

4) Other Requirements

• Open to Malaysian citizens only.

• Willing to work on-site (data center or semiconductor facilities) as required.

• Ability to travel depending on project needs.

• Certification in commissioning (e.g., CxA, NEBB, ASHRAE) is an added advantage.
