Purpose Statement: Responsible for identifying materials suitable for corporate contracts within assigned commodity scope. Responsible for developing and administering contracts which take full advantage of the total corporate volume and developing supply chain strategies to yield component contracts at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Ensure the commercial and cost savings benefits are realized at the P&L level and drive the commodity via a P&L structure to achieve targeted net parts margin.
- Identify opportunities for operational excellence and cost saving within the commodity families assigned to achieve established cost reduction targets.
- Support sites in the region when critical component escalations arise.
- Provide functional guidance to junior / new hire in accomplishing operational objectives
- Cultivate and maintain regional and global strategic supplier relationships with their executives for all major component types within assigned commodities.
- Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering. May require previous supervisory experience and leading a commodity team.
- Procurement, supply chain, distribution, and logistics competence for key commodities common mechanical components
- Strong experience driving KPIs
- Demonstrated commodity management expertise
- Supplier Selection and Management: Processes include auditing suppliers, reviewing quality certifications, assessing technical capabilities, and evaluating performance in quality and delivery.
