ABOUT THE ROLE

The Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in the AML transaction monitoring framework and name screening to help Matrixport fight financial crimes. You will be instrumental in supporting and enabling business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for those that are keen to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency / blockchain industry. The candidate will be based in Malaysia.


Key responsibilities:


  • Monitor transactions for suspicious behavior;
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring with various RegTech tools (e.g. World Check and Chainalysis);
  • Ensure alerts are reviewed in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Continuously contribute to process improvement initiatives; identify inefficiencies and control risks, propose relevant solutions followed by implementation;
  • Discuss and escalate, as necessary, issues arising from transaction monitoring;
  • Make informed assessments substantiated by appropriate information whilst ensuring that all relevant issues and risks have been considered and mitigated;
  • Maintain and update various compliance control lists and logs;
  • Act as an ambassador of Matrixport, uphold the highest standards in professionalism, client satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Assist in ad hoc projects and other tasks as assigned.


Skills & qualifications required:

  • University graduates in business or law related disciplines
  • New university graduates are welcomed
  • Strong interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain industry;
  • Self-driven, strong sense of accountability and ownership;
  • Excellent attention to details;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while upholding high work quality;
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (due to the need to handle databases and documents in Chinese and liaise with Mandarin speaking stakeholders).
