Role Description: -
The Datai Langkawi is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly innovative Concierge Manager to lead our Concierge team in delivering exceptional, personalized experiences to our discerning guests.
Located within the pristine rainforest of Langkawi, The Datai Langkawi caters predominantly to a high-end international clientele. The successful candidate must therefore possess a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, destination experiences, guest expectations, and the ability to curate meaningful experiences that reflect the unique character of The Datai Langkawi. This is a leadership position for an individual who is confident, adaptable, commercially aware, creative, and capable of developing a Concierge operation that consistently exceeds luxury guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities: -
- Lead, coach, and develop the Concierge team to deliver consistently personalized and exceptional guest experiences.
- Curate and develop innovative excursion programmers and destination experiences that showcase Langkawi's rainforest, marine, cultural, wellness, adventure, and natural attractions.
- Analyze guest profiles, interests, preferences, length of stay, previous experiences, and special occasions to recommend meaningful and personalized activities.
- Continuously explore new experiences, destinations, activities, and local partnerships to enhance The Datai Langkawi's excursion portfolio.
- Ensure all excursion recommendations are aligned with the resort's luxury positioning, sustainability principles, safety standards, and guest expectations.
- Establish effective Concierge workflows, operating procedures, communication standards, and service processes suited specifically to The Datai Langkawi.
- Exercise sound judgement and make immediate decisions when responding to guest requests, unexpected situations, operational challenges, or changing circumstances.
- Work closely with Front Office, Beach Villas, Guest Relations, Food & Beverage, Recreation, Nature Centre, Spa, Transportation, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with selected external suppliers, guides, activity providers, transportation partners, and stakeholders.
- Monitor guest feedback and identify opportunities to continuously improve Concierge services and experiences.
- Lead by example and establish a positive, proactive, accountable, and guest-focused working culture within the team.
Qualifications: -
- Malaysian nationality only.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in luxury hospitality, preferably with substantial experience in Concierge, Guest Relations, Front Office, or a similar guest-experience leadership role.
- Strong understanding and appreciation of luxury and international clientele, including their expectations, travel preferences, cultural considerations, and service standards.
- Proven ability to create and develop bespoke guest experiences and excursion programmers rather than simply providing standard sightseeing recommendations.
- Highly creative and innovative, with the ability to continuously develop new and differentiated experiences for the resort's guests.
- Strong analytical ability to assess guest needs and translate information into personalized itineraries and recommendations.
- Excellent leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to develop team members, establish clear standards, and create a high-performance working culture.
- Highly adaptable, resourceful, and confident in making instant and sound operational decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to engage with high-profile and discerning guests.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken. Other languages will be an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple guest requests and priorities simultaneously.
- Passionate about sustainability, conservation, and responsible tourism, with the ability to incorporate The Datai's environmental philosophy into guest experiences.
- Well-connected with local experience providers and capable of developing strategic partnerships that enhance the resort's offering.
- Confident with technology and guest-experience systems, including digital itinerary planning, communication platforms, and relevant hospitality systems.
- Flexible and willing to work according to operational requirements, including weekends, public holidays, and peak periods.
