Mission & role of the function
The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management, performance and profitability of the assigned Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plant(s), ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations while meeting production, quality, customer service and business objectives.
Operations Management
Manage daily plant operations to achieve production, quality, delivery and profitability targets.
Ensure optimum plant availability, capacity utilisation and operational efficiency.
Oversee maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Plan and coordinate production schedules, fleet requirements and resource allocation.
Health, Safety, Environment & Compliance
Lead the implementation of HSE programmes and promote a strong safety culture.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, ISO standards and Group compliance guidelines.
Identify and mitigate operational and HSE risks achieving continual improvement and zero harm objectives.
Inventory & Cost Control
Ensure sufficient availability of raw materials and spare parts to support continuous operations.
Monitor inventory and stock controls, including monthly stock reconciliation and variance reporting.
Manage plant operating costs within approved budgets and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Customer & Supplier Management
Ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and to agreed specifications.
Address customer complaints and operational issues promptly and effectively.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and services.
People Leadership
Lead, develop and manage plant employees to achieve operational goals.
Conduct performance management, coaching and training to build team capability.
Ensure effective induction and ongoing competency development for employees, drivers and contractors.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Monitor and report plant performance against operational, financial and HSE targets.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety and cost efficiency.
Other Duties
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Materials Science, Mineral Resources Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, manufacturing or related industries is preferred.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Good operational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
Comply with Occupational Safety and Health, environmental and other applicable legislation.
Support and participate in the continual improvement of HSE and ISO management systems.
Report incidents, hazards and unsafe conditions in accordance with Company procedures.
