A leading international data centre developer and operator is seeking an experienced Construction Lead to oversee project delivery for large-scale hyperscale and colocation developments in Johor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all construction activities across design, engineering, procurement, and project delivery teams.
- Oversee on-site and off-site works to ensure compliance with project specifications, schedule, quality, and safety standards.
- Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers, and key stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Review and validate technical design submissions, engineering documentation, and construction drawings.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and change controls.
- Conduct risk assessments and evaluate design intent, delivery feasibility, and cost optimisation strategies.
- Ensure all construction activities adhere to codes, standards, and best practices.
- Perform regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and contractor performance.
- Support commissioning, integrated systems testing, and project handover.
- Lead progress meetings, drive issue resolution, and provide timely reporting to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master's degree is an advantage).
- Professional registration with an engineering council (preferred).
- Minimum 10 years experience in MEP engineering, construction management or project delivery.
- At least 5 years working in a professional MEP or project consultancy environment.
- Proven experience as a lead design consultant or project manager on data centre or large-scale mission-critical projects (>10MW).
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, design standards, and construction methodologies for mission-critical infrastructure.
