Job SummaryThe Construction Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. The role involves coordinating with subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders, managing resources, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Scheduling Develop detailed project execution plans, timelines, and work schedules. Coordinate with subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders during design and pre-construction phases. Estimate project durations and establish milestones to track progress.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control Prepare and manage project budgets effectively. Monitor costs and implement controls to prevent overruns. Approve or negotiate contracts, change orders, and variations.
3. Resource Management Allocate labor, materials, and equipment efficiently. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials. Manage subcontractors and suppliers to maintain smooth project flow.
4. On-Site Supervision Oversee daily construction activities and operations. Ensure work is executed according to design specifications, codes, and safety standards. Coordinate between various trades to maintain workflow efficiency.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance Implement and maintain quality control procedures. Conduct inspections to ensure work meets engineering standards. Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and permits.
6. Health & Safety Management Enforce safety policies and maintain a safe work environment. Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures. Conduct regular site safety audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
7. Stakeholder Communication Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities. Provide regular project updates and progress reports. Facilitate meetings and resolve conflicts or issues promptly.
8. Documentation & Reporting Maintain comprehensive project documentation including progress reports, schedules, RFIs, and change orders. Track project milestones and prepare handover documentation. Support audits and post-project reviews.
9. Risk Management Identify and assess potential financial, operational, and environmental risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Adapt project plans to manage unforeseen issues effectively.
10. Project Closeout Ensure completion of all punch-list items. Manage final inspections and commissioning activities. Oversee site demobilization and handover to the client.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience: Minimum 8-10 years in construction management with proven experience in C&S or M&E projects. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Solid technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards. Good understanding of financial, contractual, and project management principles. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
