Job Summary:
BCEI is seeking an experienced Construction Manager (Electrical) to lead the delivery of the electrical scope on our mission-critical data centre projects in Johor Bahru.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-end delivery of the electrical scope: HV/MV/LV distribution, utility intake and substations, transformers, switchgear, standby generation, UPS and associated infrastructure
- Programme, cost and quality management of all electrical works, from design coordination through energization
- Leading electrical safety on site — permit-to-work, LOTO, arc-flash, safe systems for live working
- Driving testing and commissioning through FAT, SAT and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and a clean handover to operations
- Managing electrical contractors, consultants and power-authority relationships across the project
- Coordinating electrical interfaces with the structural, architectural and mechanical teams — cable routing, plant and electrical rooms, containment and clearances
- Ensuring compliance with local permitting, utility approvals and electrical safety regulations, including securing energization approvals and statutory inspections
What we're looking for
- 10+ years in construction project management, with substantial time on the electrical discipline of major projects
- Strong working knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, transformers, standby generation, UPS, earthing and lightning protection
- Data centre or mission-critical experience, ideally including commissioning and IST
- A degree in Electrical Engineering; chartered/registered engineer status (CEng / CPEng / PEPC or APAC equivalent) is a plus
- Fully versed in PM tools, techniques and methods.
- Proficiency in project management tools like MS Project and MS Office.
- Effective under pressure, demonstrating initiative and collaboration in an open management style.
