Job Purpose
The Contract Manager – Tendering will oversee all aspects of tendering and contract management for data centre projects. The role ensures contracts are managed efficiently, risks are mitigated, and tender submissions are accurate, competitive, and compliant with legal and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the tendering process for data centre projects, from pre-tender to award stage.
- Review tender documents, contracts, and scopes of work; advise on commercial and contractual implications.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contract terms, conditions, and commercial proposals with clients and subcontractors.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for tender submissions and contracts.
- Liaise with project teams, procurement, and legal departments to ensure consistency in tender and contract documentation.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to senior management during project lifecycle.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring clear communication of contractual obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years experience in contract management and tendering, preferably with a main contractor in data centre or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (FIDIC, JCT, or local Malaysian standard forms).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex contracts, identify risks, and propose solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of project management and tendering software is a plus.
