This opportunity is with a high-growth tech platform supporting operations in Malaysia, offering hands-on legal exposure across commercial real estate, procurement, and operational legal matters. With the right legal support, fast-moving consumer and retail businesses can scale operations smoothly, maintain regulatory compliance, and manage complex commercial relationships across supply chains.

You'll be joining a dynamic and operationally focused legal team that works closely with business stakeholders to support day-to-day supermarket operations while managing legal risk. This role is ideal for an experienced corporate commercial lawyer who enjoys practical, on-the-ground legal work within a fast-paced retail environment.

How will you make an impact in this role

Your role will include the following:

Commercial Real Estate & Tenancy Support. Provide legal support on tenancy and leasing matters for supermarket operations, leveraging existing playbooks and templates where applicable.

Commercial Contracting & Procurement. Review, draft and negotiate procurement, supply chain and vendor agreements supporting supermarket operations.

Licensing & Regulatory Matters. Support business teams on licensing requirements and regulatory compliance relevant to retail and supermarket operations.

Business Advisory. Provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice to operational teams supporting two supermarket chains.

Cross-Functional & Overflow Support. Provide general legal and overflow support to the wider Malaysia legal team, assisting with day-to-day operational legal matters as required.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years PQE in corporate commercial, real estate, or general commercial law, gained in a law firm and/or in-house environment.

Experience handling commercial real estate or tenancy matters is advantageous, though strong corporate commercial lawyers with willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Ability to work in an operational, fast-paced environment and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with strong drafting and negotiation skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to partner closely with business teams.
