The International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation (IILM) is an international organisation established by central banks to facilitate efficient cross-border Islamic liquidity management. Based in WP. Kuala Lumpur, IILM works to develop and issue Shariah-compliant financial instruments that enhance financial stability. Its innovative solutions address critical liquidity challenges faced by Islamic financial institutions globally. Job Purpose

The Associate/ Senior Associate, Corporate Communications, is responsible for supporting the effective execution of the IILM's corporate communications, branding, and stakeholder engagement activities. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality communications outputs across a variety of channels while maintaining consistency with the IILM's global positioning, brand guidelines, and strategic objectives.

Working in close collaboration with the Vice President of Corporate Communications, the Associate/ Senior Associate takes an active role in content development, media coordination, event management, and digital engagement efforts. The incumbent is expected to ensure operational excellence and the timely delivery of all communications initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Digital Communications & Social Media Primary Focus)

  • Assume primary responsibility for planning, executing, and managing the day-to-day activities of the IILM's social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and other relevant channels.
  • Develop and maintain a structured social media content calendar that aligns with the IILM's communications strategy, key milestones, auctions, events, and publications.
  • Create high-quality, platform-appropriate content such as copywriting, visuals, short videos, infographics, and basic motion graphics, ensuring all outputs are consistent with the IILM's brand identity and tone of voice.
  • Schedule, publish, and monitor social media content using approved tools, ensuring information is disseminated accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor audience engagement, growth, and performance metrics, and prepare regular analytics and insights reports with actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Remain up-to-date on digital and social media trends, best practices, and platform updates, and propose innovative ideas to increase reach, engagement, and relevance.
  • Support digital storytelling initiatives to enhance the IILM's thought leadership and global visibility.
  • Assist with content management and update for the IILM's website.

Events Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support the planning and execution of communications for IILM-led and third-party events, including conferences, roundtables, and capacity-building programmes.
  • Prepare event-related materials such as invitations, agendas, speaking notes, presentations, and post-event communications.
  • Assist with on-site or virtual event communications coordination, including media and digital coverage.
  • Support post-event evaluation by collecting feedback and preparing reports.

Content Development & Publications

  • Draft, edit, and coordinate content for various corporate materials, including website updates, social media posts, corporate presentations, brochures, and newsletters.
  • Support the development and production of flagship publications such as global Islamic liquidity reports, research reports, and investor presentation materials.
  • Work with internal teams to translate technical or operational information into clear, accessible communications content.
  • Maintain a content calendar to ensure the timely delivery of all communications materials.

Media Relations & External Communications

  • Support daily media coordination, including the management of media lists, responding to routine enquiries, and coordinating interviews.
  • Assist in preparing media briefs, Q&A documents, and background materials for senior management.
  • Track media coverage and compile regular media monitoring and analysis reports.
  • Assist in drafting and coordinating corporate announcements, press releases, media statements, and internal communications materials.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and alignment of messaging with approved key messages and organisational priorities.
  • Assist in monitoring reputational issues and promptly flagging emerging risks or sensitivities.

Branding & Visual Identity

  • Ensure all communications materials comply with the IILM's brand guidelines and visual identity standards.
  • Coordinate with designers, printers, and digital vendors to produce high-quality branding and communications collateral.
  • Support the maintenance and implementation of brand guidelines across all departments.

Internal Communications

  • Support internal communications initiatives, including staff announcements, internal bulletins, and organisational updates.
  • Assist in drafting internal messaging to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with management direction.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with budget tracking for communications-related activities and coordination with vendors.
  • Work with external agencies and vendors under the direction of the Vice President of Corporate Communications.
  • Provide administrative and project support for ad-hoc communications initiatives as required.
  • Ensure all communications activities adhere to internal policies, governance standards, and approval processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of communications materials, media coverage, and necessary approvals.
  • Support updates to communications manuals, templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Vice President, Corporate Communications, or the Head of Finance & Administration.

Requirements and Qualifications

The IILM shall appoint an Associate/ Senior Associate, Corporate Communications, taking into consideration the following criteria:

  • Degree in Public Relations, Communications, InternationalRelations, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in corporate communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in Islamic finance, capital markets, or broader financial services sector is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and execute communications strategies, including digital, media, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate content across multiple platforms.
  • Proficiency with visual design and content-creation tools, including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Illustrator, lnDesign, Photoshop), and other relevant design or publishing software.
  • Good understanding of social media analytics, digital trends, and platform best practices.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, coordinate with vendors, and handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a multi-jurisdictional and cross-cultural environment.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining brand consistency and messaging quality.
