Job Description

Job Overview:

This role sits at the core of Gambit Group's growth engine—directly impacting capital access, strategic transactions, and long-term value creation. It offers exposure to high-impact corporate initiatives within a dynamic and evolving financial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Capital Raising & Funding Strategy

  • Lead and support fundraising initiatives across debt and equity, including:
  • Corporate and banking facilities
  • Private investors / institutional funding
  • Government grants and incentive programmes
  • Source, evaluate, and engage funding partners (banks, funds, advisors) to meet Group financing needs
  • Structure and negotiate financing terms aligned with business objectives

2. Banking & Margin Operations

  • Oversee banking facilities and financing lines, including:
  • Applications, drawdowns, utilisation, and settlements
  • Monitoring of covenants and compliance obligations
  • Support and manage margin-related operations, including financing structures, collateral management, and risk monitoring

3. Corporate Finance & Strategic Transactions

  • Support execution of IPO, M&A, investments, and other corporate exercises end-to-end
  • Coordinate with advisers (investment banks, legal, auditors, tax) to ensure smooth execution
  • Assist in structuring transactions, preparing documentation, and managing timelines

4. Financial Analysis, Modelling & Due Diligence

  • Develop financial models, valuations, and feasibility studies to support decision-making
  • Conduct due diligence and financial assessments for investments and corporate exercises
  • Prepare internal investment papers and Board-level materials

5. Stakeholder Management & Investor Interface

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
  • Banks, investors, and financial institutions
  • Professional advisers and regulatory bodies
  • Support investor communication and reporting, where required

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with business, legal, finance, and external stakeholders to execute initiatives
  • Support AGM/EGM preparations, corporate reporting, and internal financial briefings

7. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory, legal, and financial requirements
  • Support listing-related matters and ensure alignment with applicable frameworks

8. Ad-hoc & Strategic Projects

  • Undertake special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior management

Qualifications:

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CFA) are an advantage
  • 3–6 years relevant experience in Corporate finance / investment banking / PLC environment, Fundraising, banking facilities, or transaction execution

Core Competencies

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Practical experience in fundraising and banking relationships
  • Solid understanding of Malaysian corporate, financial, and regulatory frameworks
  • Exposure to IPO, M&A, or capital market transactions is highly desirable
