Roles & Responsibilities
Manufacturing Costs and Inventory Control
- Manage all aspect of cost accounting work including standard cost update, variance analysis, intercompany profit elimination, revenue/purchases cut-off testing and other month-end close tasks.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the cost accounting function from management of costs to supporting Operations team
- Responsible for monthly inventory reconciliation, GP reconciliation, production wastages analysis, inventory provision, review of open production order aging report & AP/inventory aging report, customer and vendor consigned inventory, monthly costing reports
- Oversee processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs; direct and indirect costs including compliance to Group and Company policies and procedures
- Conducts physical inventory and monitor cycle-count program
- Monitor BOM and liaise closely with operations team.
Product Costing and Transfer Pricing
- Calculates and maintain a list of accurate and up-to-date product costing for existing SKUs and supporting on cost simulation for new product development.
- Maintain accurate standard costs of manufacturing components and finished goods in the ERP system
- Work with Procurement team to calculate impact of changes in procurement prices of raw materials, and support on negotiation discussion
- Update of quarterly transfer pricing
- Plan, organize and direct all the activities of the cost accounting function
- Support on annual transfer pricing documentation update and year end statutory audit.
Indirect Tax SST and SSB
- Ensure SST/SSB computation are correctly performed, reconciled and payment made on time
- Liaise with Custom on any audit/other matters
Others
- Actively participate in the annual budgeting process by providing updated cost information across different product lines
- Manage day-to-day operations of the existing cost accounting function from management of current rates to monthly close and analysis
- Maintain integrity and accuracy of accounting system
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses and assist team with special projects as requested
- Liaise with production, engineering, supply chain and warehousing departments for continuous improvement
- Identify any improvement areas to ensure continuous efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
- Minimum a Degree in Accountancy/Finance/Costing accounting or related professional qualifications, with a sound understanding of accounting standards.
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in similar role(s) and with External Audit/Full set Accounting Experience will be added advantage.
- Must have strong cost management background in a manufacturing environment, preferably from an MNC/FMCG
- Hands-on experience using ERP system, and have done system implementation setup of a manufacturing module
- Strong analytical mindset, meticulous, and pro-active in solving problems
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong and positive interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively across different levels in organization
- Strong planning & organizational skills, with ability to work under tight deadlines independently, team player,
- Computer literate i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, software application
