Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer drawings, specifications, and functional requirements to determine manufacturing feasibility.
- Identify and recommend the most cost-effective manufacturing processes.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including material costs, machining cycle time, tooling and fixtures, testing, and packaging.
- Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to validate manufacturability and optimize processes.
- Propose Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements to reduce cost and enhance machining efficiency.
- Work closely with cross-functional departments such as Sheet Metal Fabrication, Assembly, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure alignment on project requirements.
- Support quotation preparation and provide technical clarification to customers when required.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in the Metal and Machinery Manufacturing industry.
- Experience in cost estimation, CNC machining, and fabrication processes is an added advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining and cutting technologies.
- Good understanding of material science and material selection.
- Familiar with tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and internal departments.
