We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic School Counsellor to join the team at Taylor's International School. In this role, you will provide essential wellbeing support to students, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school leadership to foster a safe and nurturing learning environment.
You may also be required to provide counselling services to other Taylor's International School branch campuses and sister institutions within the Taylor's Education Group as needed.
Respond to drop-in referrals and conduct preliminary student assessments
Provide individual and group counselling to help students define goals and develop realistic action plans
Develop therapeutic alliances and age-appropriate intervention plans based on students psychological and emotional needs
Plan, implement, and evaluate therapy outcomes
Support students and school management during crisis situations and manage transitions for newcomers.
Liaise with teachers, principals, other counsellors, and guardians when resolving crises while adhering to ethical codes of conduct
Maintain confidentiality of all counselling reports, sessions, and related events
Make referrals to external service providers based on case management requirements
Organise workshops and campaigns to educate students, teachers, and parents on wellbeing and related issues
Guide and support family members in understanding student needs to promote development and learning
Remain up to date with current developments in counselling by attending courses, seminars, and reading professional literature particularly in the fields of youth and children counselling
Must have
Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related discipline with a specialisation in counselling
Registered with the Board of Counsellors Malaysia (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia) with a valid practising certificate
