Key Responsibilities:
Strategy, P&L, and Growth
P&L Ownership: Full responsibility for the Malaysian entity's financial performance, including revenue targets, cost management, and capital expenditure planning.
Market Strategy: Identify and carve out new areas of operation to avoid me too competition, establishing a market leadership position, optimizing profitability.
Target Setting: Define and achieve ambitious targets for project pipeline development (MWp), financial close, and construction completion.
Business Development & Origination
Key Account Management: Establish and secure key anchor customers beyond the usual suspects.
Bidding & Tenders: Lead the preparation and submission of competitive bids for government-led schemes, ensuring compliance with local content and equity requirements.
Corporate PPAs: Drive high-value origination efforts with multinational corporations and large local enterprises for C&I rooftop and ground-mount solar projects.
Partnerships: Identify and secure strategic relationships with local EPC firms, financial institutions, land developers, and off-takers (Corporate RE buyers).
Project Financing & Structuring
Financial Close: Oversee the successful structuring and closing of project financing (debt and equity) with local and international banks and investors.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate country-specific risks related to currency, political stability, grid connection, and land acquisition/lease.
Regulatory & Stakeholder Management
Policy & Compliance: Act as the primary liaison with key government bodies, including SEDA, the Energy Commission (ST), MIDA, and the grid operator (TNB).
Regulatory Advocacy: Monitor, analyze, interpret, and proactively influence evolving energy policies (e.g., NEM, TPA frameworks) to ensure business continuity and competitive advantage.
Corporate Governance: Ensure all operations adhere strictly to local law, environmental regulations, and company ethical standards.
Team Leadership & Operations
Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing local team across business development, finance, engineering, and project execution.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the Project Management and EPC functions to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
