Scope
Responsible for developing and executing the country's Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL) product strategy. Works closely with Sales, Operations and Regional Product teams to ensure pricing alignment, operational support, market competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
Product Development & Market Coordination
- Support the execution of the Ocean Product initiatives in alignment with the Regional and Global teams.
- Gathering market information (rates, capacity, trends) analysing it and sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.
- Implement standardized global/regional solutions (digital tools, product programs) adapted to local needs.
Operational Execution & Process Optimization
- Oversee daily FCL/LCL operations ensuring service quality and coordination with carriers, ports, truckers, and customs brokers.
- Identify and manage operational risks (congestion, equipment imbalance, delays) while assisting on the creation of contingency plans.
- Support maintenance of local tariffs and ensure data accuracy on the systems.
- Assist in training and guiding Sales and Operations on product-related topics.
Commercial Guidance
- Lead and oversee pricing activities including spot requests and customer quotations.
- Act as country lead for the ocean tender process and support Sales in winning strategic customers and the development of new trade opportunities.
- Provide support to Sales Teams in customer discussions including active participation when required.
- Contribute to monitoring performance and identifying improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder, Carrier & Compliance
- Maintain and develop relationships with local carriers, NVOs, key clients and local partners.
- Conduct QBRs with Carriers to align on performance KPIs and assist on resolving disputes when required.
- Ensure adherence to compliance requirements and internal processes.
- Act as escalation point for major operational or commercial issues.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years in ocean freight, product management or leading operational roles.
- Proven work experience in pricing activities, carrier negotiations, and product development.
- Good understanding of the local market dynamics (e.g., key ports, trade regulations).
- Result driven, reliable and with a structured approach for handling day-to-day operational tasks.
- Strong operational understanding with ability to handle changes and exceptions.
- Fluent in English and local language(s).
