The Wave Clinic provides specialist residential trauma focussed programs for teenagers and young adults, focusing on a range of mental and behavioural health challenges. Located in a serene setting just outside of Kuala Lumpur, the clinic offers a safe and supportive environment for personal growth, reflection, and community living within a high-care therapeutic framework. With individualised medium- to long-term programs starting at 12 weeks, the clinic integrates clinical treatment with education opportunities, including vocational, academic, and alternative pathways. The Wave Clinic features a multidisciplinary team, including a resident psychiatric team, therapists, nutrition team and nursing.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Creative Arts Therapist, based in Kajang. The Creative Arts Therapist will utilise modalities such as art, music, and/or drama therapy to support the therapeutic journeys of young adults. Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing creative therapy sessions tailored to individual needs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, documenting young adult progress, and fostering a safe and expressive environment. The role also involves contributing to program planning and participating in team treatment planning meetings to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications

• Expertise in creative arts therapy modalities, including Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and Drama Therapy
• Strong understanding of mental health and experience working with adolescents and young adults in a therapeutic setting
• Ability to foster creativity, self-expression, and emotional well-being in a supportive environment
• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in Creative Arts Therapy, Mental Health, or related fields
• Experience in residential care or therapeutic settings is highly advantageous
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to client needs
