Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end collections, recovery, litigation, repossession, and asset disposal activities to achieve portfolio and financial targets.
  • Develop and implement effective collection and recovery strategies aligned with business objectives, KPIs, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage delinquent hire-purchase accounts from early arrears through legal recovery, enforcement, and judgment execution.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, recovery rates, trends, budgets, and KPIs, implementing corrective actions and process improvements where required.
  • Lead and manage Collections, Loan Monitoring, Litigation, and Assets & Disposal teams, ensuring strong performance, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Oversee litigation matters, including legal documentation, panel solicitors, court proceedings, settlements, enforcement actions, and legal costs.
  • Manage repossession and disposal of recovered assets, including auctions, tenders, ownership transfers, and strategies to maximize recovery value.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, particularly Sales and Marketing, to improve recovery outcomes and accelerate asset disposal.
  • Review and enhance policies, procedures, and processes to strengthen operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and recovery performance.
  • Prepare management reports, approval memoranda, and performance updates on recovery activities, legal matters, budgets, and portfolio trends.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support strategic projects to enhance overall collections and recovery effectiveness.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in collections and recovery within the industrial hire-purchase or equipment financing sector.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in loan collections, remedial management, debt recovery, and litigation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities, with a strong track record of driving team performance and achieving results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
