Job Description

Adecco's client specialising in custody, securities services, and investment operations, is seeking a Custody Settlements Manager to join its operations team supporting international institutional clients. The role will lead a high-performing settlements function responsible for ensuring timely and accurate trade settlement activities while driving operational excellence, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and team development within a fast-paced financial services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily custody settlement operations to ensure all trades are settled accurately and within agreed timelines
  • Ensure operational activities are conducted in accordance with internal controls, policies, and safekeeping procedures
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders including treasury, FX, lending, middle office, and operations teams to resolve settlement-related issues
  • Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance settlement efficiency and STP rates
  • Monitor team performance against operational goals, KPIs, and service delivery standards
  • Manage escalations, operational incidents, and risk-related matters in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure all operational deadlines and deliverables are met with high accuracy and quality standards
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members through continuous feedback, mentoring, and performance management

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in custody operations, settlements, middle office, or asset servicing environment
  • Strong understanding of custody settlement processes, trade lifecycle management, and securities operations
  • Proven experience managing operational risks, escalations, and stakeholder coordination within financial services
  • Strong leadership experience with ability to manage, coach, and develop operational teams
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership over team deliverables and operational outcomes
  • Strong understanding of escalation management and operational governance standards
  • Experience managing reconciliation activities involving cash, FX, derivatives, or settlements is an added advantage
