Job Description

Role Overview

The Cyber Security Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth for cyber security solutions in the Malaysian market. This role focuses on acquiring new customers, expanding existing accounts, and positioning cyber security offerings in alignment with local regulatory requirements, industry standards, and business risks.

The role requires a strong balance of commercial acumen, cyber security knowledge, and local market understanding, engaging with enterprise, government-linked companies (GLCs), and regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Identify, qualify, and close new cyber security business opportunities across Malaysia
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline aligned with annual revenue targets
  • Drive end-to-end sales cycles: lead generation, customer engagement, proposal development, negotiation, and closure
  • Develop account plans for strategic, enterprise, and regulated customers

Customer & Executive Engagement

  • Engage with CIOs, CISOs, IT Heads, Risk & Compliance leaders, and senior management
  • Understand customer security posture, regulatory obligations, and business challenges
  • Position cyber security solutions as risk mitigation and business enablement tools

Cyber Security Solutions & Market Focus

  • Collaborate with pre-sales and delivery teams to design tailored solutions
  • Promote offerings such as:
  • Managed Security Services (SOC, SIEM, SOAR)
  • Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Network, Endpoint & Zero Trust Security
  • Risk, Compliance & Governance
  • Incident Response & Threat Management
  • Stay current on local regulations and frameworks including:
  • Malaysia PDPA 2010
  • Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) RMiT
  • ISO 27001 / NIST
  • Bursa Malaysia & industry compliance requirements

Partner & Ecosystem Management

  • Build and manage relationships with local and regional technology partners
  • Support joint go-to-market initiatives with vendors and system integrators
  • Engage with government agencies, GLCs, and industry forums where applicable

Sales Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate CRM data, forecasts, and pipeline reporting
  • Track KPIs including revenue, pipeline coverage, win rate, and deal cycle time
  • Ensure adherence to company sales governance and ethical standards

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Cyber Security, or a related field

Experience

  • 5–10 years of B2B sales or business development experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years in cyber security, IT services, or technology consulting
  • Proven track record of selling complex, solution-based offerings in Malaysia
  • Experience dealing with regulated or enterprise customers preferred
