Job Description
Overview: As a Cyber Security Consultant (Pre-sales), you will act as the trusted technical advisor bridging the gap between our sales team and our clients. You will play a pivotal role in assessing client security postures, designing resilient cyber security architectures, and proposing comprehensive security solutions. You will collaborate closely with clients, sales executives, and post-sales delivery teams to ensure solutions are technically viable, meet stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and are scoped accurately for successful delivery. Your authoritative expertise will be essential in driving technical sales, orchestrating Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and positioning company as a leading security solutions provider.
Key Responsibilities
Security Solution Design and Architecture:
- Collaborate with clients to deeply understand their business objectives, assess their current security infrastructure, and identify critical vulnerabilities.
- Design customized, enterprise-grade cyber security architectures tailored to client requirements, ensuring designs incorporate High Availability (HA) and robust redundancy mechanisms.
- Develop comprehensive technical proposals, Bill of Materials (BoM), and Scope of Work (SoW) documents for seamless project handover.
Pre-Sales Engagement and Presentations:
- Deliver authoritative technical presentations, product demonstrations, and security strategy workshops to client stakeholders, ranging from technical teams to C-level executives.
- Respond effectively to technical requirements in Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
Proof of Concept (PoC) & Technical Validation:
- Lead and execute technical Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate the value and efficacy of proposed security solutions within the client's environment.
- Define clear success criteria and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) protocols during the pre-sales phase to ensure aligned expectations prior to project deployment.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work seamlessly with the sales team to formulate account strategies and identify cross-selling or up-selling security opportunities.
- Ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to the post-sales delivery team by providing detailed documentation and comprehensive architectural briefings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2-4 years of professional experience in cyber security, specifically in a pre-sales, consulting, or solutions architecture role.
- Experience working with IT distributors or system integrators in the Malaysian market is highly advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of cyber security domains, including Network Security, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR/XDR), Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Zero Trust architectures.
- Strong familiarity with enterprise-level security products. Experience with vendors such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, CheckPoint, CrowdStrike, Trend Micro, or SentinelOne is strongly preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+) or vendor-specific pre-sales/technical certifications (e.g., NSE 4-7, PCNSA/PCNSE) are a significant plus.
- Excellent business communication, presentation, and technical writing skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into business value.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple vendor relationships, and act as an authoritative technical resource within a collaborative team.
