Data Analytics Engineer
Location: Penang, Malaysia
Role Overview
- This role is a critical enabler for R&D productivity and innovation.
- The Data Analytics Engineer will design and enhance advanced BI dashboards, develop pricing models to support R&D during NPI development, and build AI-powered solutions such as competitive pricing models and intelligent recommendation engines for up-sell, cross-sell, and NPI part selection.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI-driven solutions for R&D workflows:
- Build intelligent recommendation engines for part selection during NPI design.
- Create pricing models to guide R&D decisions and support pricing strategy rounds.
- Design and enhance BI dashboards to provide actionable insights for R&D teams.
- Operate as a key member of the Business Intelligence team, ensuring relevant and accurate business information is provided to business partners on a timely basis.
- Provide consistent and accurate business analysis in revenue/orders reporting to support planning and forecasting.
- Work with business partners to identify opportunities for leveraging revenue and component data to drive business solutions.
- Assist business partners in planning and forecasting business growth with data-driven insights.
- Lead end-to-end development of data solutions—from evaluating requirements to implementation.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to optimize design workflows and improve business outcomes.
- Integrate internal and external data sources to enable faster, smarter component selection.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics, BI development, and AI/ML model implementation.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Proficiency in:
- BI tools (Power BI / Tableau)
- SQL and data modelling
- Statistical programming languages (Python, R)
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks for recommendation systems and predictive modelling.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
