About The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Data Center Commissioning Manager to lead the technical verification and operational readiness of our hyperscale facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all MEP systems perform according to design intent, safety standards, and client expectations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Holistic Commissioning Management

  • Directly manage and mentor the Commissioning Authority (CxA), ensuring all deliverables strictly adhere to client standards and corporate quality systems.
  • Test Script Validation & Execution
  • Rigorously review, approve, and oversee the execution of all on-site Functional Performance Testing (FPT) scripts.
  • Ensure testing procedures are precise and that results accurately reflect system performance while fully aligning with project design specifications.
  • Schedule & Milestone Control
  • Develop and enforce strict commissioning schedules, ensuring all critical milestones are achieved on time to meet corporate project delivery deadlines.
  • Proactively identify potential schedule delay risks and formulate effective mitigation and corrective action plans.
  • Technical Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the Technical Lead for the commissioning team, providing deep technical guidance and support.
  • Maintain close communication and collaboration with Project Management, General Contractors, Equipment Vendors, and End-Clients to remove technical roadblocks and ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
  • Establish and enforce standardized commissioning test procedures and Safety Protocols (SOPs).
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted safely and compliantly, targeting zero incidents and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

  • Foundation: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 7–10 years of proven, hands-on experience specifically in data center testing and commissioning.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep domain expertise in power systems (UPS, Generators, Switchgear), HVAC, and network operations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing teams and balancing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, concise language for clients and stakeholders.
  • Local Savvy: In-depth understanding of the Malaysian business and regulatory environment.
  • The Drive: Proactive mindset with a willingness to travel regionally between construction sites as needed.
  • Bonus Points: Professional certifications (like CDCP, CPM, or CSCP) will help you stand out.
