Job Description

About Our Client

Our client is a leading Data Center operator in the APAC region, supporting the growing digital infrastructure needs of hyperscalers, enterprises, and cloud service providers. As part of its regional expansion, the company is seeking an experienced Design Lead to drive the design and delivery of mission-critical data center projects across Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and solution development of data center facility projects during tender, bidding, and project execution phases.
  • Engage clients to understand business and technical requirements and recommend suitable data center solutions.
  • Design end-to-end data center infrastructure, including electrical, HVAC, fire protection, and civil systems.
  • Prepare technical proposals, load calculations, design drawings, project budgets, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to define scope of work and review shop drawings.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments and support cost estimation and project planning activities.
  • Ensure solutions comply with industry standards including TIA-942, BICSI, IEC 61439, IEEE 493, and BS 7671.
  • Evaluate and recommend critical infrastructure equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, ATS/STS, UPS, batteries, PDUs, busway systems, and related electrical components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data center design, integration, or turnkey infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of data center design principles, bidding processes, commissioning, and system integration.
  • Experience with large-scale data center projects (>5MW) is preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Project, and other engineering tools.
  • Professional certifications such as ATD, CDCP, or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel (60–70%) required across the APAC region to support client engagements, site assessments, project delivery, and technical workshops.
