We are representing a top-tier Project Management Consultancy seeking a Southeast Asia Data Centre Sector Lead to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced data centre professional with a strong track record delivering and overseeing major mission critical projects across Southeast Asia. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading regional client relationships, driving project delivery excellence, and supporting the continued growth of the business data centre sector across SEA.
The Opportunity
Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will lead a growing regional data centre practice for a globally recognised PMC with an established presence across Asia.
You will oversee multiple high-profile projects across Southeast Asia, acting as the senior client lead while supporting strategic business growth across the hyperscale and mission critical market.
This role is suited to a commercially minded leader with exceptional client management capability and the ability to drive both operational performance and sector expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Leadership & Project Oversight
- Provide leadership across multiple live data centre projects throughout Southeast Asia
- Oversee project delivery, commercial performance, programme management, and client satisfaction
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams across regional markets
- Ensure best-in-class delivery standards across all project phases
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the senior point of contact for key regional clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hyperscalers, developers, investors, and strategic stakeholders
- Provide executive-level oversight, reporting, and advisory support
- Represent the business at senior client meetings and industry engagements
Business Development & Sector Growth
- Support the continued growth of the data centre sector across Southeast Asia
- Identify and develop new client opportunities and strategic partnerships
- Contribute to regional business strategy and market expansion initiatives
- Support bids, proposals, and sector positioning activities
Requirements
- Extensive experience within the data centre or mission critical sector
- Strong leadership experience across multiple data centre projects in Southeast Asia
- Proven client-facing capability with key client oversight experience
- Track record in business development and sector growth preferred
- Previous experience within a leading PMC, consultancy, developer, or EPC environment
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel regionally as required
Preferred Background
- Experience delivering hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centre developments
- Strong understanding of the Southeast Asian construction and data centre market
- Existing regional client network highly advantageous
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
