Contract Duration: 1 year contract - renewable
Location: Iskandar Puteri,Johor IDC, Malaysia
Salary Range: RM 7,000 – RM 8,000 Basic + Allowances (depending on experience)
Language Requirement: Mandarin speakers required (Basic Chinese + English communication skills needed due to stakeholder/vendor coordination)
Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and smooth operation of data center (IDC) infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and environmental systems. The role involves hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, asset management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Center Operations & Maintenance
- Ensure availability and reliability of multiple data centers
- Perform daily inspections of servers, switches, power systems, and environment
- Maintain stable data center operations and report status
- Server & System Management
- Handle server installation, hardware maintenance, and fault resolution
- Perform OS installation and configuration (Windows/Linux)
- Support troubleshooting for CentOS and Unix-like systems
- Network & Infrastructure Support
- Troubleshoot network devices and switches
- Perform switch replacements and resolve link failures
- Manage physical cabling (fiber, network, power cables)
- Incident & Issue Management
- Respond to daily issues and emergency incidents promptly
- Escalate complex issues when required
- Asset & Inventory Management
- Manage IT asset documentation (inbound/outbound)
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy
- Maintain and replace faulty equipment and spare parts
- Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with IDC operators, vendors, and logistics teams
- Ensure physical security of IDC assets
- Submit daily reports on time
Job Requirements:
- Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years in server/storage maintenance
- Experience in data center / IDC environment preferred
- Technical Skills
- Knowledge of server and storage hardware
- Familiar with Windows & Linux systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Able to work 24/7 shift rotation (7×24 support model)
