Facility Management Engineer
Oversee IDC MEP infrastructure operation, maintenance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the operational management of critical data center infrastructure.
- Oversee change management, emergency fault response, and preventive maintenance tracking for key systems.
- Manage the capacity of data center infrastructure systems, including power distribution and cooling systems.
- Monitor and mitigate availability risks of infrastructure systems, driving problem resolution and closure.
- Lead and implement projects aimed at improving the capacity, energy efficiency, and reliability of existing facility systems.
- Support the IT Manager in projects and day-to-day operations.
- Assist in the design, construction, and commissioning of new data center sites or server rooms.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with data center colocation (COLO) service providers, collaborating to manage critical electrical and mechanical systems within the data center. Rapidly respond to incidents, manage and reduce operational risks, monitor routine maintenance of key equipment, evaluate COLO service performance, and drive continuous improvements based on operational data. Collaborate closely with internal teams, such as procurement, to optimize SLA terms and related policies.
- Establish operational performance benchmarks, analyze the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure, and prepare related reports.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Over 3 years of experience managing or operating critical infrastructure in large data centers, or over 5 years of facility management experience in large-scale production facilities (e.g., factories).
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) equipment, including but not limited to UPS systems, generators, chillers, pumps, and cooling towers.
- Strong safety awareness with the ability to consistently maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, or Malay.
- Detail-oriented with strong risk identification skills and the ability to drive effective problem resolution.
