About the Role:
The Project Engineer, Clerk of Works (M&E) will be responsible for supervising mechanical and electrical installations on-site to ensure they meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role involves monitoring contractors work, verifying materials and workmanship, coordinating with consultants and project teams, and ensuring timely completion of M&E works. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems and a proven track record in site supervision.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise M&E works on-site to ensure alignment with approved design, specifications, and industry standards.
- Inspect installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for quality assurance.
- Verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship meet contractual and safety requirements.
- Monitor testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems to ensure functionality.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to resolve technical discrepancies.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on progress, quality, and compliance.
- Ensure timely delivery of M&E works without compromising safety or quality.
About you:
- Diploma/Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum 5 years site experience with inspection in relevant trades (CSA or M&E)
- Proven experience in Data Centre projects (preferred) with exposure to critical infrastructure, quality compliance, and fast-track delivery
- Registered with CIDB Malaysia and possess a valid CIDB Green Card
- Strong knowledge of building codes, QA/QC standards for Data Centre, UBBL, and BOMBA requirements.
- Good communication and reporting skills in English.
- [Essential] Experience working on hyperscale or large-scale data center developments is a plus.
