Join our exciting team as a Data Engineer with the following job scope:

  • Architect and implement data solutions on our large-scale data platform Hadoop using PySpark.
  • Write complex and efficient SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow and Kafka.
  • Develop and optimize data processing jobs on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, leveraging services such as Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data products.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across all systems.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of our data infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the Big Data space.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer in a Big Data environment.
  • Proven hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, YARN).
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, specifically with the PySpark library.
  • Extensive experience of workflow management tools, particularly Apache Airflow.
  • Basic knowledge of messaging and streaming platforms, especially Apache Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with ticket systems (JIRA, Azure Devops).
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Basic skills with business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in an intercultural, agile team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German skills are a plus.
