About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Lead to drive end-to-end data migration delivery for next-generation core system modernisation programmes across banking, insurance, and asset management clients.
The role will involve working across multiple business segments, including Retail, SME, and Commercial, and requires a strong combination of data migration, data architecture, project delivery, and stakeholder management expertise.
Mandatory: Candidates must have hands-on experience delivering data migration for at least one insurance core system project.
Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Strategy & Planning
- Define and implement the overall data migration strategy, approach, and roadmap in alignment with project objectives, scope, and timelines.
- Lead the planning and execution of the end-to-end data migration lifecycle for core system implementation projects.
- Serve as the key point of contact for clients, core system vendors, third-party solution providers, and internal teams on migration-related matters.
- Identify migration risks, dependencies, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with functional consultants, technical leads, data architects, and other workstreams to ensure alignment throughout the migration programme.
- Provide technical and functional guidance on migration planning, data mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
- Oversee data quality, governance, validation, and reconciliation activities throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Ensure migration deliverables are completed according to agreed quality standards and project timelines.
Stakeholder & Project Management
- Monitor migration progress, milestones, risks, and key deliverables.
- Provide regular status updates and reporting to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Coordinate communication and dependencies across clients, vendors, internal teams, and third-party solution providers.
- Lead discussions and drive resolution of migration-related issues and escalations.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data migration, core system implementation, data architecture, or related project delivery.
- Mandatory: Proven hands-on data migration experience in at least one insurance core system project.
- Experience with insurance core systems covering areas such as:
- Policy Administration
- Underwriting
- Claims Management
- Payments
- Re-insurance
- Strong experience with data migration methodologies, ETL frameworks, data validation tools, migration engines, or similar technologies.
- Experience working on next-generation core system modernisation programmes is highly preferred.
