Data Platform Solution Consultant

About Us:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Platform Solution Consultant / Data Project Manager to lead enterprise-level data platform initiatives for a leading automotive manufacturing client. This role serves as the key liaison between business stakeholders and the data engineering team, ensuring business requirements are accurately translated into scalable data solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management, business analysis, and stakeholder management skills with a solid understanding of data platforms and analytics. While technical knowledge of data technologies is beneficial, this is not a hands-on data engineering or software development role.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Data Platform Project Delivery (50%)

Customer Current-State Assessment

• Conduct in-depth business discovery through executive interviews and stakeholder workshops to understand the client's strategic objectives, core business processes, data application challenges, and decision-making gaps.
• Analyze the client's existing IT landscape by documenting system architectures, identifying data silos, integration bottlenecks, and limitations of current BI solutions.
• Assess the client's data technology stack, including data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and processing engines, and evaluate compatibility with leading big data platforms such as MaxCompute, DataWorks, and Hologres.

End-to-End Solution Design

• Design highly available and scalable enterprise data platform architectures based on mainstream big data technologies.
• Develop comprehensive data governance blueprints, covering data standards, data quality, metadata management, and data security frameworks.
• Lead business KPI standardization by defining calculation logic, dimensional models, and data lineage, while producing standardized KPI documentation.
• Design high-fidelity BI dashboard prototypes using Quick BI, Axure, or Figma, including data storytelling, interaction flows, and UI specifications.
• Prepare detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and technical solution proposals, defining functional modules, data models, and acceptance criteria.

2. Pre-sales Solution Support (30%)

• Translate ambiguous business requirements into structured data platform and analytics solutions.
• Design competitive technical proposals based on leading big data product ecosystems for customer tenders and solution bidding.
• Present solution proposals to CTOs, senior business stakeholders, and executive teams, participate in tender presentations and technical defenses, and collaborate with the sales team on technical contract deliverables.

3. Capability Development & Knowledge Management (20%)

• Develop and refine methodologies and best practices for enterprise data platform implementation.
• Build reusable assets, including KPI templates, business discovery questionnaires, and solution design frameworks, to improve project delivery efficiency.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with MaxCompute, DataWorks, Hologres, and Quick BI, including strong knowledge of their architecture, APIs, and platform limitations.
• Proven experience designing and implementing data pipelines, real-time data warehouses, and KPI management platforms using the above technologies.
• Successfully led at least three full lifecycle data platform projects, covering business discovery, solution design, PRD preparation, and project delivery.
• Ability to independently produce: Business requirement matrices, System integration architecture designs, KPI dictionaries (200+ business metrics) & High-fidelity BI dashboard prototypes
• Experience supporting enterprise data projects valued at over USD 150,000 or RMB 1 million, including technical proposal writing, executive presentations, Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstrations, and solution bidding.
• Strong English communication skills, capable of conducting technical solution discussions with international stakeholders (equivalent to IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90, or above).
• Able to communicate (including speak, read and write technical documentation) in Chinese Mandarin language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry experience delivering data platform or analytics projects in Retail, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, or Energy.
• Prior experience in consulting for enterprise data transformation or analytics initiatives.
• Broader technical expertise across the modern data ecosystem, including:

** MaxCompute, DataWorks, Dataphin, Flink, Hologres, Quick BI, StarRocks, Greenplum

• Professional certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) are highly desirable.

Working Arrangement:

• First 2–3 months (Project Implementation Phase) are required totravel to Tanjung Malim (client's office) every working day.
• Daily travel is required until the data platform project is deployed.
• After project deployment (estimated after 2–3 months) will be required to work at the Tanjung Malim (client's office) for a maximum of 1 day per week.
• Remaining working days will be based at either: iSoftStone Setia Alam Office, or iSoftStone Intermark KL Office (to be confirmed)
• Travel Reimbursement :Mileage, petrol, and toll expenses incurred for work-related travel to Tanjung Malim will be reimbursed.
