We are looking for either a data scientist looking to step up to a senior role or a seasoned senior data scientist who is looking for a new challenge.
In this role you will be working in the data science practice whilst supporting the wider team of data engineers, system administrators, digital (web and app developers) and project management team.
Projects will range from analytically driven dashboard development to algorithm builds. You will be also contributing to the wider team in scoping out projects that will involve analytics or data science components in the deliverables.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: There are three main areas of responsibilities:
a)Data model and algorithm build - Execute the full data mining steps from data preparation, modelling & interpretation.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms for business applications.
b) Data visualisation - Develop analytically driven dashboards to provide the business units with key performance indicators, alerts, monitoring and tracking.
- Presenting data to the business in a logical manner.
c) Project Scoping - Collaborate with several other teams and roles across the business on requirements gathering and solution deployment.
- Collaborate with analytics practitioners, business analysts and methodologists to design and oversee the development of working prototypes of technical solutions.
- Contribute to the shaping of the data warehouse so that data is stored in an analytics ready format.
Requirements We are looking for a highly motivated data scientist who has a good mix of technical and soft skills:
Technical Skills- Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc. and their real-world advantages, drawbacks and applications.
- Familiar with any virtualization / BI tools, preferably Power BI.
- Experience in data manipulation and algorithm build in Python.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
Soft Skills - Good English written and verbal communication skills - ability to present findings in a cohesive manner.
- Critical thinker ask the why questions and how will the output make an impact on the business.
- Ability to communicate ideas, comments and feedback in a constructive and precise manner.
- Good team player especially within a cross functional project team.
- Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and handle multiple projects that may overlap.
- In some instances, be the analytics lead on a project.
Qualifications and experience - University Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or any related field.
- Data Scientist with at least 3 years working experience in practical dashboard and model development and deployment.
