Job Description:
We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join our Commercial Finance team to pilot a data-driven approach in how we analyze, visualize and interpret commercial performance.
Position: Junior Data Scientist
Employment Type: 1-Year Contract (with potential for extension)
Department: Commercial Finance
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate, clean and analyze large datasets to derive business insights and support decision-making in pricing, trade spend and profitability;
- Experiment with sales, volume, mix forecasting models using statistical or machine learning techniques;
- Experiment with price elasticity and ROI models to simulate business scenarios;
- Translates data into clear financial or commercial insights to a non-technical audience that includes stakeholders and management;
- Support monthly business reviews with visualizations and commentary;
- Identify areas where automation or advanced analytics can improve efficiency in business processes and standard reports.
Requirements
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related fields, with at least 1 year of experience in Data Science positions;
- Experience in FMCG is an advantage;
- Advanced Excel skills. Solid command of Phyton and its libraries, SQL and Power BI;
- Confident in English on advanced level (both written and verbal);
- Demonstrating ability in analyzing large datasets to identify patterns and trends;
- Demonstrating ability in using statistical modelling techniques or machine learning including deep knowledge of statistics & math behind common algorithms;
- Demonstrating ability in creating tailor-made visualizations to communicate insights & recommendations to audiences.
