ABOUT THE ROLE
The Data Specialist provides technical content curation and administrative support to the database team. Duties include information retrieval and sorting, data entry, database record population and updating, data curation, categorization, and reporting. The Data Specialist will also collaborate with the Technical Advisor, IT data scientist, and other staff to assist in training machine learning algorithms intended for process automation. Other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Retrieve pharmaceutical data from assigned sources
- Process data assigned via the Automated Data Collection and Curation Process (ADCCP)
- Follow detailed instructions, flow charts, and checklists to perform data processing tasks
- Accurately verify, sort, categorize, and enter (if appropriate) incoming data pertinent to pharmaceutical records
- Using the provided system tools, alert analysts (or other key personnel) to pharmaceutical records requiring higher level review and/or processing
- For assigned database records, ensure that each record has been populated to the fullest extent possible and that all related data is up-to-date and accurate at least once every 28 days
- Perform data summarization, systems status and performance reporting, and other data retrieval and management tasks as requested
- Timely processing of assigned database records for creation and/or updating
- Meet daily and weekly quotas for updating database content
- Accuracy of greater than 99% for all data entry and curation tasks
- Perform other related or unrelated duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
- Experience with data entry in a healthcare or scientific database environment.
- Relevant experience in healthcare information systems, informatics, or data management is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Understanding of medical terminology and other healthcare-related language and concepts
- Knowledge of healthcare horizon scanning and/or healthcare technology forecasting a plus
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences, biomedical science, clinical science, pharmaceutical science, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field.
