Database Administrator

Position Title: Database Administrator

Job Summary:

Serve as a database administrator/Opertion providing Game database platform technical support, and daily DB operation. Position requires the ability to work with DevOPS and database technology team to deliver high efficiency database platforms running on cloud for Company Game products.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily technical support and operational services for overseas game production databases running on cloud platforms.
• Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, backup and recovery for production environments.
• Provide first-level support for database-related incidents and coordinate with Database Technology and DevOps teams to resolve issues.
• Support database schema changes, data changes, deployment and other database operations in production environments.
• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity and overall health.
• Perform basic Linux system administration and troubleshooting related to database environments.
• Work closely with China-based technical teams on database incidents, technical issues and daily operational matters.
• Document troubleshooting procedures, operational processes and database-related issues.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call or shift support when required.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, CIS or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Database Administration, Database Operations or Database Support.
• Strong hands-on experience with MySQL is required.
• Experience with Redis, MongoDB or other databases is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in Linux system administration and troubleshooting is required.
• Experience with database backup/recovery, monitoring and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS Cloud, Tencent Cloud or other cloud platforms is preferred.
• Experience supporting databases in production / 24x7 environments is an advantage.
• Good Chinese communication skills are required for daily communication and technical discussions with China-based teams.
• Good English communication skills for working with overseas teams.
