Database Manager

Note: This job is applicable only for candidates currently working in Malaysia.

Role: Senior Database Manager 

1-year extendable contract

Work location: Bangi (5 days work from office)

Notice: Immediate / currently serving / max 30 days

Required technical skills

• More than 6-year experience in database maintenance and administration of group IT RDBMS such as MySQL, MS SQL and Oracle. 

• Deep technical knowledge of various RDBMS and operating System architecture and concepts with strong troubleshooting skills

• Multi OS experience such as Windows, AIX,HP-UX, Solaris and Linux

• Microsoft Office skills

• Other DBMS or RDBMS

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot database issues to ensure high availability and performance

• Apply patches, upgrades, and fixes to maintain secure and stable systems

* Analyze database performance and implement improvements

• Manage capacity planning, storage, and growth tracking

• Automate routine tasks using scripts to improve efficiency

• Handle database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning

• Support application installations and upgrades

• Ensure compliance with ITIL, audit, and internal standards

• Maintain documentation and operational procedures

• Provide on-call support for database systems when required
